The First Time Ever in Faerie History We Go To the Wilds of the Carpathian Mountain Range
of Transylvania, the Central Part of Romania.
There will Be Faeries of Many Nations Desirably Including Romania who Self-Identify As Men, Women, Trans or Any Other Gender or No Gender.
There Will be 3 or 4 Holiday Houses For Us
And Space For Tents in the Garden or at a Near Creek
In the Rustic Shepherd Village of
Vale (Grabendorf) near Saliste
At the Foot of the Carpathians of Transylvania
20 km away from Sibiu (Hermannstadt)

And 2 hours away from the “Dracula” Castle Bran
Bram Stoker wrote his gothic horror novel Dracula in 1897, using Transylvania as a setting. With its success, Transylvania became associated with vampires. Since then it has been represented in fiction and literature as a land of mystery and magic.
In the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Tim Curry played a character that comes from “Transexual Transylvania.”
We will celebrate a Tribute!
Therefore, the themes of the gathering reveal themselves as
darkness and lights, myths and passions.
The landscape diversity of Transylvania is unique in Europe: here there is a cohesion of extensively cultivated areas, “intact” villages and traditional agriculture, as it existed in other parts of Europe in the 19th century. In addition to the rich flower meadows, wolves and bears are also found in the relatively low regions of Transylvania.
There will be all lovingly by us prepared vegetarian and fresh local food you can eat!
(We will buy our delicious food and farm products manly from the village and cook it in our house kitchens)
As we are in a rather historian Village and we respect the traditions of the local people we will not show nudity outside of our gardens.
But in our wild Mother Nature there will be all Faerie Playfulness that you always wanted to create. And there will be: Laughter and Tears. Things that can never be foreseen or forgotten! Tours & workshops & Heart Circles & shows & hikes into the Nature and into the Mountains and maybe …
we will see a real Bear!
This DRAGula Gathering will be after the Global Gathering (8-17 August 2017) in England, with the opportunity for its participants to participate also in the Transylvania Gathering.
Outdoor activities & tours around Vale
- on request a day tour to BRAN Castle where Dracula was said to have lived and to a nearly bear reservation can be arranged
- a horse ride up to 15 people with or without a traditional goulash dining fire can be arranged
- mountain lakes with jumping fish, saltwater lakes and spas can be visited
- You can also arrive by car. But we also rented a Dacia MCV.
The nearest train stations are in Saliste and Sibiel (each 4 km away).
You can expect structure to arise, however, from the people attending. There will be an opening circle on 19th, heart circles, rituals, workshops, a closing ceremony at 26th and other Faerie activities. You can also expect an Introduction talk to new faeries, auction if possible, a No Talent Show, rituals in the wood, tours around, bikes and hikes and even HORSERIDES!
Like all gatherings, the content will be created by you and the others attending.
So join us for a magical unusual gathering with lots of pioneering and scenic beauties.
2 houses for about 20 people have a big common garden, where another 10 tents for camping can be put. This will be our gathering point. The 3rd house is about 10 minutes away. We only have 3 and 4-person bedrooms and there are warm showers in the house.
A 4th house for another 10 people will hopefully be renewed for us till August 2017. Therefore, we will have about 15 faeries beds available plus 5 in sleeping bags on the ground, the others would have to camp either in the garden – or in the village or in the wild creek nearby and find the one or the other who rent private. These can be arranged.
There is also a small mountain lodge for 4 persons to stay about 15 kilometers away, which can be reached only by horse-drawn carriages.

Contribution and Registration Fee:
There are only 2 categories for the whole gathering:
with bed (€ 200,– incl. food etc.)
or without bed (€ 50,– for food etc.,
if you sleep in your sleeping bag in the house or in your tent outside).
A contribution of € 50 for the food and car sharing is necessary for all registrations.
15 beds are available at the beginning of the registration process (Included in bed registration are also bed linen, towels, soap + shower gel, spices),
another 10 extra-beds or spaces in local houses (low standard) can be arranged by our contact person 1-2 months before the gathering (we will have a waiting list, the price for these beds will be announced as soon as our contact person gives OK. Those are payable at the gathering)
We also ask for more food contribution during the gathering if it will be necessary.
Higher donations are appreciated and welcome.
In the powerful Radical Faerie tradition, we do our best to follow the NOTAFLOF (No Faerie Turned Away For Lack Of Funds) philosophy for those who need no bed. Just ask.
Please be aware that because of the limited bed situation only if you have registered AND already PAID € 200,– for the bed you have the bed fix!
So please don’t forget to pay immediately if you register for a bed!
Registrations for beds in our rented houses must END after the last of the 15 beds is paid! This will be announced and following registrations will be on a waiting list for another 10 available beds.
Last minute beds are possible in the hostel and pensions of Saliste (2km away).

There is a direct flight connection from Vienna, London LTN, Madrid, Dortmund, Memmingen, Munich, Stuttgart and Nuremberg to the small but close Sibiu Airport, where you would then be picked up by our contact persons or by us.

If you want to join the Austrian Faeries by airplane, we will fly with Austrian Airlines on
Saturday 19t h August at 12.50 pm from Vienna and back on Sunday 27th at 4pm. BOOK flights ASAP!
Trains to Sibiu via Budapest from Vienna, Then take a local train or bus to Saliste where we pick you up.
